Your glow comes from within. My hope is that you find my path inspiring and that you too, will find and share your glow.
I’ve struggled with my weight for my entire life: by the time I was 10 years old, my mom was dragging me to Weight Watchers. Over the years, I’ve lost and gained substantial amounts of weight but had never managed to keep it off for any longer than a year. At the start of 2017, my career was thriving, but my health had taken a backseat. At the time I weighed well over 300 pounds and had been diagnosed in 2016 as pre-diabetic. I realized I needed to do something to gain control of my health, but in order to evoke lasting change I knew counting calories and punishing myself at the gym wasn’t going to get me there. I’d tried that approach many times before, but without also working on my inner self, I continued to repeat the cycle and eventually all the weight came back. I needed a gentler approach, one that healed not only my body, but my mind and my spirit. I drove by Sacred Studio in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn every day for four months before I finally went in for my first class. Once I did, I quickly realized this was the answer I was searching for and naturally, as I did the work on my inner self, my outward- self started to change as well. Through the practice of yoga, I have released 120 pounds, regained my health, and discovered my best self.
In November 2017, I launched a wellness and lifestyle blog This Curvy World to share my personal journey, create a space that promotes self-love and acceptance, body positivity and inspires people to live their best life now. As the blog gained momentum, I realized that I wanted to deepen my yoga practice and develop deeper connections with others through teaching. In the Spring of 2019, I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training from Sacred Brooklyn--where it all began. Now, I feel lighter for the first time in my life. I have more love, compassion, respect, and appreciation for my body. I will never be a size 2; that’s not who I am meant to be. I will always be curvy and that’s ok. I can be curvy, fit, healthy, and fabulous all at once. I’ve learned to love and care for myself in a way that I never thought possible and I want the same for you. Through my blog, social media, public speaking, and yoga teaching, I want to cultivate a community that promotes self-love and acceptance while sharing all of the things I love from personal style, beauty, design, and wellness.
I've collaborated with brand partnerships as a host, speaker, podcast guest, and social media influencer.
